[The beginning] [1999 till August 2000] [Yahoo! Webring integration] [Split rings]
This is the boring story of a slowly growing webring after the beginning period and before the Yahoo started its integration.
It is slow going in 1999. I have found no sites to invite. The labrats site joined, due to an invitation in December. January 11, Dr. Vulture's Laboratory of Evil Science joined without invitation. This was a great moment for me. A month later I found that he had moved the ring-fragment to a list with tens of webrings with in between a note which tells people not to follow the rings. I doubt anyone will go to any ring from that site, so I had to remove him from the science humor webring. I wonder what the other ringmasters think about this.
In April and May, the ring grew slowly but surely by spontaneous submissions.

In June 1999, Michael DiDonato closed his aliquotes site due to his graduation.
First week of March: I found out that the Science Humor webring had several sites in common with the Fun Science ring, mentioned above, so I checked it out again. It seemed that the rings had a large overlap in subject after all and Chris Taylor and I decided that it would be nice to refer to the other's ring in our ring home pages, so that people who have sites which fit in both rings can easily join both.
Last change: June 14, 1999
Not much changed in this time. The number of rings grew slowly to 45, most from people who spontaneously submitted their site.
