From: elecyq#NoSpam.leonis.nus.sg (Chen YangQuan) NAME: Humor on Control Systems DESCRIPTION: Mathematical Cartoons, not just control systems. Below follows the official description: 'Control' is being said an "experimental subject" (see, for example, D. S. Bernstein, "Control Experienments and What I learned From Them: A Personal Journey", IEEE Control Systems, vol. 18, no. 2, pp. 81-88) although only the applied mathematics motivated papers can be published in top international journals. Therefore, humor accurs. Here is a collection of control-related humors published in the IEEE Control Systems Magzine from 1984-1994 under the column of "Out of Control". Unfortunately, this column is seemingly a disturbance (periodical or, repetitive:) and thus was rejected by Control Systems since 1995. I enjoyed those humors and I believe that humor implies creativity. MEDIUM: Journal: IEEE Control Systems Magazine 1984-1994, column "Out of Control" NOTE: Connection timed out at check on March 4, 2001

It's a Freudian interpretation of Euclid. MEDIUM: Book

From rickey#NoSpam.math.bgsu.edu (From his disappeared Bibliography of Humor in Mathematics page) NAME: O'Brien, Katherine, Excavation and Other Verse, The Antheonsen Press, 1967. DESCRIPTION: Some of these poems are mathematical. I like "Einstein and the ice-cream cone," "Valentine," and "Undefined Terms," but my favorite is "Aftermath" which deals with what happens to a mathematicians library after they die: "Now Hardy's a treasure and Banach a pleasure / and the Knopps a delight for the mind." Rich allusions indeed for those who have read their books. MEDIUM: Book
